I tested the program. It was limited and expensive. I removed it from my computer.

Opinion

I may have been confused about M-Files Express. I thought it was free, but when I installed it I was prompted for the "trial" or the pay version. I did install the trial, but never actually tested it, because at this time I am not prepared to purchase any product. I started this search for a document organizer because I am unhappy with the product I already have. But since I recently bought a product similar to yours, I am not ready to throw it away and buy another (actually I would like to throw it away). Unfortunately, the company I bought the other product from was not willing to let me return it. I have spent 6 months setting up and migrating our existing documents into the system and I can now see that it will never be what we really would like to have. After uninstalling M-Files, I did a little more research on it and it does look like a product that might work for us. However, at this time, I'm looking for the basics and something that won't cost me anything. We don't need a lot of features. Just need to organize documents by 2 or 3 search fields and have an extremely easy user interface. Also, I don't want a system that creates it's own document type within it's database. In other words, I want the original document whether PDF, Excel or whatever to remain intact and accessible by other applications...I don't know how M-Files handles this. Maybe I downloaded the wrong version. If there IS a free version I might try it again, but only if it would allow at least 5 users and a large number of documents (100,000). I see that you have a tutorial video on your web site. I am going to take a look at that.
